Green Lantern was one of the first DC heroes I related to as a child-- specifically, Hal Jordan. I'm not knocking Kyle, as he is the best "Peter Parker with a ring" DC could muster... but of all the GLs, it's all about Hal.
It was cool that Kyle could do creative things with his powers, sure-- but with Hal, he did what was necessary and moved on. I love Guy Gardner for being a prick, but he's far from the idea GL. Jon Stewart is cool enough, but it's kinda sad that the most character he's ever had was put in via the JLA cartoon. C'mon, he's a comic character--WE should have made him interesting, not pass it off to a media tie-in! And G'Nort and the rest of the Corps rule, too-- but Hal is the quintessential Lantern now and forever. I'm glad he's back in the ring and white boots these days.
Currently, one of my favorite Hal Jordan stories is Darwyn Cooke's DC: The New Frontier. If you haven't read it, go get it! If you don't like it, I'll refund your purchase or something. It's really good.
As for the picture? It's alright-- not my best, but it's not bad. Having finished the next three installments already, I can confidently say they put this one to shame. Sorry, Hal.
Hal will always be THE ONLY GREEN LANTERN in my mind. I'm not knocking Kyle or Alan, but they just don't resonate with me the way Hal does. He was the GL I knew growing up. He'll always have that magical place in my comic-loving heart... (Man that sounds lame...)
Uh... Hal ROCKS!!!!

You can't have everything, where would you put it?
Exactly! Hal defined the character. Alan is great elsewhere-- Kyle is finding a new place for himself away from all of this. The rest yadda yadda yadda HAL RULES. hehehe

it took New Frontier for me to actually gain some interest in hal as a character. (i've got the HC, btw, and it's awesome.) kyle's always been my guy, but i htin knowing one of his co-creators personally might have helped to influence that too... that and giant boxing gloves get so boring so quickly.

Gloves maybe?
The figure shines. The jawline on the profile portrait throws me. I usually picture mandibles on an angle and you've made Hal's rigidly horizontal.
I agree with you on Hal. I liked him more than Superman as a kid. Hell, I liked the Composite Superman from World's Finest more than Superman!
k.
Now that I think about it . . . I've never really liked Superman . . .
Thanks for the crity and kind words! Valid points all.
